Big companies like Nestle are quietly making the switch to natural food coloring. What are the dangers?< Nestle announced last week that it plans to remove all artificial colors and flavors from its candy bars. The company said it was doing so in response to consumer preferences, not because there was anything dangerous about the artificial products it was using. Nestle isn’t the only company making the switch. Hershey’s is beginning its journey in this direction as well. Luke J.W. Haffenden, the chief flavorist with Novotaste, a Montreal-based flavor solutions provider, told me he thinks these moves are just the tip of the iceberg. “In the food industry, in the last couple of years, it has been a hot topic of discussion. You go to any of […] Read More

By Elizabeth Renter Natural Society As we reported in January of 2013, a convention ten years in the making has resulted in a treaty that will ban the production and trade of many products containing mercury as well as processes where mercury is released into the environment. But critics say the Minamata Convention didn’t go far enough, and suspect that those in attendance may have helped sway the treaty in their favor. As the Alliance for Natural Health reports, 140 countries were present at the convention earlier this year and over 90 of those countries just recently signed the final treaty. Because of the timing and the bickering in Washington, the delegation from the US was recalled due to the government shut-down. But the US joined on November 6 to sign the treaty. According […] Read More
From Dr. Betty Martini, D.Hum 2-28-6 OPEN LETTER TO FDA – VIA CERTIFIED MAIL DELANEY AMENDMENT: If a product causes cancer in animals it cannot be put in food! The late FDA Toxicologist, Dr. Adrian Gross, testified to the Senate: “In view of all these indications that the cancer-causing potential of aspartame is a matter that had been established way beyond any reasonable doubt, one can ask: What is the reason for the apparent refusal by the FDA to invoke for this food additive the so-called Delaney Amendment to the Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act? Is it not clear beyond any shadow of a doubt that aspartame has caused brain tumors or brain cancer in animals? “Given that this is so (and I cannot see […] Read More

The unions acted following revelations of an apparent cover-up of evidence from Harvard School of Dental Medicine linking fluoridation with elevated risk of a fatal bone cancer in young boys. Crumpled Coke Can Poetic Justice 12-14-4 The photo of a crumpled can of Diet Coke told the story in the Atlanta Journal Constitution, 30-1-2000, Coke’s hometown paper. Fitting, poetic, just, but tragic for the company once rated “The Most Admired Business in the World”. Today Coke wouldn’t even make the list. Sales are down, profits collapsing, and 6,000 employees soon will be gone. (To make room for 6,000 defence attorneys?) The tragedy is stupendously larger than 6,000 jobs; it affects hundreds of millions of unwarned, innocent, afflicted consumers across the broad face of planet earth. * This crisis can’t be solved by belt tightening, greater efficiency, more advertising, etc. It’s so bad Coke can’t say the word; to pronounce it will bring instant cataclysm. That […] Read More
by Sherill Sellman From: The SPECTRUM Vol. 4 No. 8; February 2003, p.23 — www.thespectrumnews.org Editor’s note: Considering the quantity of sugar we all consume in one way or another each day, sometimes not by choice, the following is perhaps the most important health article to come along in quite some time, and should be shared as widely as possible with family and friends of ALL ages. Many of you readers of this publication are quite familiar with the various business and “health” reasons why the New World Order gang of misfits have long been promoting sugar (and even nastier artificial sweeteners) to help with their sinister control and depopulation agendas. Obviously, on the way to ruining our physical and mental health, a lot of […] Read More
by Reenie L. Mahon After reading a book entitled Excitotoxins the Taste that Kills, by Dr. Russell L. Blaylock, I was immediately off to my kitchen to check labels to be sure there were no “excitotoxic entrees” destined for my family’s consumption. My reading made me aware of the widespread use of these dangerous food additives, however, I was not prepared for the large bag of items to be culled from my cabinet. Practically every package of soup broth, sauce mix, snack crackers, and chips, some soy products, bread crumbs, tuna and even the fresh bakery bread contained one or more of these powerful brain toxins. That experience prompted me to write this article for the busy, health conscious consumers who may not have this […] Read More
You walk into a supermarket. On the delicatessen counter there are some sausages whose label reads: ‘not less than 100% meat’; in other words, there is nothing in them other than meat. But it also reads: ‘contains herbs, preservative and colour’ so, quite obviously, it must be less than 100% meat . It works like this. Say you have 5 lbs of raw meat, but after cooking it, its weight has dropped to 4 lbs. The law allows you to make up that other lb. with a cheap filler. You now have 5 lbs of the mixture and, because it weighs the same as the original meat, you can call it 100% meat! Asking my butcher the same question elicited a different answer. He told […] Read More
by Lynn Landes, ZeroWasteAmerica.com (215) 493-1070 and MariaBechis, updated July 1998 The widespread and uncontrolled use of fluoride in our water, food, juices, beverages, and dental products is causing widespread overexposure to fluoride in the U.S. For three consecutive years, The Journal of the American Dental Association (see JADA’s Dec. 1995, July1996, July 1997) has published studies reporting on pervasive overexposure to fluoride due to “the widespread use of fluoridated water, fluoride dentifrice, dietary fluoride supplements and other forms of fluoride…{There is} an increased prevalence of dental fluorosis, ranging from about 15% to 65% in fluoridated areas and 5% to 40% in non-fluoridated areas in NorthAmerica.” In February of 1997, The Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) warned parents to limit their children’s intake of juices […] Read More
