Mars Incorporated, the company that owns many popular chocolate candy brands has announced that it intends to label the products that contain genetically modified organisms (GMOs), to comply with Vermont’s law. Vermont is the first state to require such labeling, effective July 1, 2016. The company will label its products nationwide, not just for the state of Vermont. Popular brands include M&M’s, SNICKERS, Dove, Galaxy, Mars, Milky Way, TWIX, 3 MUSKETEERS and more. The decision comes at a time when GMO policy is in focus for the 2016 election season. Last week, the U.S. Senate voted 48-49 against a bill that would have blocked states from making their own GMO labeling laws. Senate Bill 2609, the Biotech Labeling Solutions Act has been called the DARK […] Read More

As part of a nationwide sweep, the Department of Justice and its federal partners have pursued civil and criminal cases against more than 100 makers and marketers of dietary supplements. The actions discussed today resulted from a year-long effort, beginning in November 2014, to focus enforcement resources in an area of the dietary supplement market that is causing increasing concern among health officials nationwide. In each case, the department or one of its federal partners allege the sale of supplements that contain ingredients other than those listed on the product label or the sale of products that make health or disease treatment claims that are unsupported by adequate scientific evidence. Among the cases announced today is a criminal case charging USPlabs LLC and several of […] Read More
This article is a study of natural medicinal plants and their potential for treatment of Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s, ALS and other neuro-degenerative diseases. It is the culmination of six years work, having studied ethnobotanical medicine and the field of neuro-disease, making connections between the two in the search for something viable in terms of an alternative treatment option for ALS – amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, and similar neuro-degenerative conditions. IMAGE: Ayahuasca Vision by Paulo Jales of Brazil In south and Central America, the native people within many tribes living in the Amazon rainforest have a long historical tradition of making and consuming a natural medicine/tea called Ayahuasca. It is harvested and prepared mainly from a wild growing vine, it’s Latin name being Banisteriopsis Caapi. Often, but not always, leaves from […] Read More
After steadily dropping for many years, mercury levels in some parts of the United States are starting to rise again, according to a study published in Science of the Total Environment. The long-term national trend is still downward, but levels of mercury in rainwater increased across the Rocky Mountains and the Midwest between 2007 and 2013. “It’s a surprising result,” said co-author David Gay of the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign. “Everybody expected [mercury levels] to continue going down. But our analysis shows that may not necessarily be the case.” Mercury is a chemical element that functions as a potent neurotoxin. The majority of mercury in the environment is released by human industrial activities, primarily through the burning of coal. Atmospheric mercury, such as from coal […] Read More
The world’s most ancient tree has something to teach us, and give to us, as far as promoting brain health and longevity goes. Considering the fact that gingko biloba is the oldest known tree in existence (deemed for this reason a “living fossil“), isn’t it poetic how this plant has also been used to promote long life as both a food and medicine in traditional cultures as well? Clearly, this plant has figured out a way to optimize longevity in face of many of the same adversities humans face, e.g. predators, infections, fluctuations in nutrient availability and climate, etc. And so, by consuming that plant, could it not lend some of its power and (phytochemical) wisdom to those imbibing it, as was once commonly believed […] Read More
The $1 trillion War on Drugs launched by President Nixon in 1971 created the Mexican drug cartels, now legalizing weed is killing them. The Mexican drug cartels are finally meeting their match as a wave of cannabis legalization efforts drastically reshapes the drug trafficking landscape in the United States. It turns out that as states legalize cannabis use and cultivation, the volume of weed brought across the border by Mexican drug cartels dramatically decreases — and is putting a dent in their cash flow. A newly-released statistical report from the U.S. Border Patrol shows a sharp drop-off in cannabis captured at the border between the United States and Mexico. The reduction in weed trafficking coincides with dozens of states embracing cannabis use for both medical and recreational […] Read More
“The Bride of Frankenfood” Worked at a law firm that handles Monsanto’s matters. If Hillary Clinton and the democrats claim to be so progressive, compassionate and “pro choice,” then why are they using government power to strip away the right of moms to choose (or say NO) when it comes to vaccines? All that “pro choice” banter turns out to be total B.S. once the issue turns to vaccines, and vaccines contain toxic chemicals such as aluminum, polysorbate 80, mercury, MSG and formaldehyde, all of which pose severe health risks to children. If Hillary Clinton had any real compassion for women, she would support a woman’s right to choose on issues of medical interventions and toxic vaccinations. If you’re being forced to take a vaccine against your will (by a totalitarian medical regime like California), are there things you can do to protect yourself from vaccine toxins? You bet there are! Sunday, March 06, 2016 by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger Vaccines contain mercury, aluminum, MSG, formaldehyde and other adjuvants such as squalene. These are all neurotoxic substances that can cause permanent brain damage, autism, seizures, comas and even death. This is precisely why vaccines cause autism and Asperger’s in some children as was openly admitted by a top CDC scientist named Dr. William Thompson. The key to surviving this assault on your body is to eliminate these chemicals quickly. In this video filmed at our Consumer Wellness Center Laboratories, I reveal […] Read More
Many survivalists have found their bit of land, and it is deeply inspiring to read online the various journeys of men and women turning those plots into small Edens, into havens of self-sufficiency, or even into comely places to make a final stand. But for those of us who will not be planning to bug-out, or who aren’t lucky enough to have an extended guerrilla skillset, it is wise, I think, to find activities or projects that are multi-faceted in their rewards. I would like to suggest that anyone who can, consider the pairing up of two simple elements whose whole is far greater than the sum of their parts. I will share with you a richly rewarding pursuit that yields benefits for the kitchen […] Read More
In 1982, scientist Alberto Rotundo and his team studied 23 patients who had developed renal failure in their first year of life. The study, Progressive encephalopathy in children with chronic renal insufficiency in infancy, outlined that, after reading the hospital records and medical reports of children suffering renal failure under the age of one year, the scientists discovered that 20 of the children who had been analyzed as part of the study had gone on to develop profound neurological abnormalities, defined as encephalopathy or disorders of the brain. Their symptoms were characterized by developmental delay, microcephaly (small head), hypotonia (floppy baby syndrome), seizures, dyskinesia (abnormal muscle movements) and abnormal EEGs. [1] The scientists wrote that, at the time of their study: “No patient had been […] Read More
