2006: Research backs theory that vitamin C shrinks tumours

By Jeremy Laurance, Health Editor Published: 28 March 2006 New research suggesting that vitamin C can be effective in curing cancer will renew interest in the “alternative” treatment for the terminal disease. Three cancer patients who were given large intravenous doses over a period of several months had their lives extended and their tumours shrunk, doctors reported yesterday. A 49-year-old man diagnosed with terminal bladder cancer in 1996 was still alive and cancer-free nine years later, having declined chemotherapy and radiotherapy in favour of regular infusions of vitamin C. A 66-year-old woman with an aggressive lymphoma who had a “dismal prognosis” in 1995 was similarly treated and is still alive 10 years later. A 51-year-old woman with kidney cancer that spread to her lungs diagnosed […] Read More

1996: Is Selenium Deficiency Behind Ebola, AIDS and Other Deadly Infections?

Jack Challem 12/04/96 The latest Ebola epidemic in Zaire may be over, but it’s probably only a matter of time before this supergerm returns – and still others emerge. The reason: Ebola and other deadly viruses, including the human immunodeficiency virus-1 (HIV-1), might be stimulated by deficiencies in the mineral selenium. And Zaire – where the Ebola and HIV-1 viruses first appeared – may be a viral “hot zone” because of low selenium levels in the soil and widespread selenium deficiencies among people living off that land. Too strange to be true? To the contrary, a similar connection has been established in China, where a common virus mutates into a dangerous form when it infects people deficient in selenium. Selenium, an essential mineral, functions as […] Read More

SODIUM CHLORITE: The Miracle Mineral Solution (MMS)

By Walter Last Sodium chlorite is presently being promoted as a miracle mineral supplement or MMS with superior antimicrobial activity. You can appreciate its power from a statement by the discoverer of this remedy that all 75,000 individuals with malaria that have been treated were cured within a day, with 98% being cured within 4 hours (1).This obviously has great ramifications not only for self-healing but also for the drug industry and medicine. In the following I want to comment on these issues. Conventional Use of Sodium Chlorite Acidified sodium chlorite is being used in many countries, including Australia and the USA, as an antimicrobial treatment in the food industry, for water purification, and for sterilizing hospital and clinic rooms and equipment. In hospitals it […] Read More

The Rediscovery of a Super Antibiotic?

Colloidal silver appears to be a powerful, natural antibiotic and preventative against infections. Acting as a catalyst, it reportedly disables the enzyme that one-celled bacteria, viruses and fungi need for their oxygen metabolism. They suffocate without corresponding harm occurring to human enzymes or parts of the human body chemistry. The result is the destruction of disease-causing organisms in the body and in the food. Early Research Colloidal silver was in common use until 1938. Many remember their grandparents putting silver dollars in milk to prolong its freshness at room temperature. At the turn of the century, scientists had discovered that the body”s most important fluids are colloidal in nature: suspended ultra-fine particles. Blood, for example, carries nutrition and oxygen to the body cells. This led […] Read More

2011: Selenium deficiency increases heart disease and cancer incidence

Wednesday, April 13, 2011 by: John Phillip Researchers reporting in the FASEB Journal found that selenium deficiency in the American diet may be a significant foundation for the rampant proliferation of heart disease and cancer over the past several decades. By analyzing data from hundreds of published studies, Dr. Bruce Ames of the Children`s Hospital Oakland Research Institute determined that selenium-dependent proteins deprived of the essential mineral pave a path toward chronic disease early in life that may threaten our long-term survival past our reproductive years. We need to obtain selenium in the proper form from an early age to dramatically lower the risk from heart disease and cancer in later life. Dr. Ames subscribes to the newly developed `triage theory` that explains why age-related diseases like […] Read More

What if there was one nutrient which…?

Desensitized estrogen receptors in the breast. Reduced estrogen production in overactive ovaries. Reduced fibrocystic breast disease which often precedes breast cancer. Caused cancer cell death, slowed down cell division and reduced blood vessel growth to tumors. Caused more cell death than the chemo drug, Fluorouracil . Prevented rats from getting cancer when they were fed the breast cancer causing toxin DMBA. Research suggests that some breast cancers may be an iodine deficiency disease. As iodine consumption has gone down, breast cancer rates have gone up. But the research goes far deeper, exploring the effects of iodine supplementation on breast disease and breast cancer. This important breakthrough has been in the research pipeline for years but only recently found momentum. After sifting through 50 years of […] Read More

The Borax Conspiracy

The Borax Conspiracy: How the Arthritis Cure has been Stopped Walter Last You may not be able to imagine that borax, this humble insecticide and laundry detergent, has the potential of singlehandedly bringing down our entire economic system. But you do not need to worry, the danger has been recognised and the necessary steps are already being taken to defuse the situation. I will start with the basics and you will understand what I mean as the story unfolds. Borax is a naturally occurring and mined mineral salt and the source of other manufactured boron compounds. The main deposits are in Turkey and California. Chemical names are sodium tetraborate decahydrate, disodium tetraborate decahydrate, or simply sodium borate. This means it contains four atoms of boron […] Read More

Facts on Honey and Cinnamon

2008: Adding a Little Culture to Your Life

By Corinna Richards As recently as just several years ago, consumers faced few choices when it came to probiotics, or beneficial bacteria, those “good little bugs” that keep the “bad bugs” living inside us in check. Beyond live-culture yogurt, not many people knew where to find friendly bacteria. For those who did, there were relatively few products from which to choose. Although the term probiotics was, in fact, first used in scientific literature in 1965 (in Science magazine), these days we know much more about these beneficial bacteria and how essential they are to our health. (For a good overview, read “Probiotics: An Old Story Takes On New Meaning,” Issue 44/November 2001.) At the most basic level, probiotics help maintain the proper balance and functioning […] Read More
