Autistic Boy Learns to Speak Again After 2 Days of Cannabis Oil Treatment

At just ten months old Kalel Santiago experienced a rare type of cancer known as neuroblastoma.  He underwent chemotherapy, radiation, and had several surgeries over a two year period. He was able to beat cancer but later they found he had a very strong case of autism. While he was in the hospital he did not speak at all and was acting a bit off but it was not until he was three years old that they were able to actually have him diagnosed. The family tried several different treatment options for his autism and did find some success with a nearby school but their son still would not speak. The family soon became aware of hemp oil high in cannabidiol (CBD) and how it […] Read More

Healing with Medical Marijuana

Marijuana has gone mainstream, as evidenced by the spread of the use of marijuana as a medicine, and now outright legalization in some places is turning peoples’ heads and hearts to a vision where marijuana is perceived as good. Now available in print, I am very happy to announce the New York publication of my book Healing with Medical Marijuana, now available on Amazon. In it one can find total support for the use of marijuana—even for rest and relaxation. Researchers are still struggling to understand how it impacts the body but anyone can use marijuana and see for themselves how it affects their pain and disease conditions. In a new 400-page analysis of the current state of scientific knowledge on the health risks and […] Read More

The propaganda campaign orchestrated during the 20th century by the State and its corporate allies is unraveling, exposing the absurdity of prohibition. Since the gates have been pried open–to an extent–for medical cannabis research, we are discovering amazing benefits of this plant for a variety of ailments. Yet it is still classified by federal government as […] Read More

Proof Marijuana Is The Most Medicinal Plant On Earth

More than a dozen U.S. states have now completely decriminalized the act of possessing marijuana and both Colorado and Washington have made it legal to possess, sell, transport and cultivate the plant. In a historic and significant moment in American history, last November, Colorado became the first US state to legalize marijuana for recreational use. The impact of the decision could soon ripple across the entire country with vast opportunities to educate millions on the top health benefits of marijuana. by Marco Torres, PreventDisease With the passage of I-502 in the 2012 Washington State election, marijuana also became legal in Washington–not just for medical use, but also for recreational use–and Alaska, California, Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, Nevada, New York, Nebraska, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, and Vermont have […] Read More

Recent Studies Find Cannabis Highly Effective Against Depression, PTSD

Recent scientific studies regarding the use of cannabis (marijuana) and its healing powers are further disproving the government’s biased and inaccurate stance against its medical use. The government refers to marijuana as a “gateway” drug to harder substances and schedules it along side them even though it has proven to be safer than alcohol. Taking these claims into consideration, scientists across the country have taken it upon themselves to research the chemical makeup of marijuana and prove to the public the benefits that it holds. Through the research of endocannabinoids, a stress-regulating chemical found in the brain that is also found in marijuana, scientists are producing evidence to prove that marijuana usage could benefit those who suffer from depression. Chronic depression is one of the […] Read More

Obama Effectively Tells Supreme Court to Legalize Marijuana

In a strange and subtle turn of events, the Obama administration came to the defense of legal marijuana by telling the U.S. Supreme Court that they should not even entertain a lawsuit raised by Oklahoma and Nebraska Both state’s politicians seem to have strong hatred for nearby Colorado’s recreational marijuana trade. As such, they have tried to actually sue to bring an end to the legalized plant in Colorado. U.S. Solicitor General Donald Verrilli Jr., wrote a brief suggesting that the U.S. Supreme Court is not the proper venue for such a grievance. “The motion for leave to file a bill of complaint should be denied because this is not an appropriate case for the exercise of this Court’s original jurisdiction,” Verrilli penned. “Entertaining the type of dispute at issue here […] Read More

Mexico Rules Consumption and Cultivation of Cannabis is a Fundamental Human Right

Marco Torres, Prevent Disease The world is slowly but surely turning the page on one of the most fundamental rights we have on this Earth–the right to consume, cultivate and possess a plant. That right has been stripped away from many populations globally for decades. Days after voters in the US state of Ohio rejected a proposal to legalise cannabis for recreational use, Mexico has ruled that pot, whether smoking, consuming or cultivating is a fundamental human right. The Mexican Supreme Court ruled by 4 to 1 that banning the consumption and cultivation of cannabis for personal use violates the human right to free development of one’s personality. “This vote by Mexico’s Supreme Court is extraordinary for two reasons,” says Hannah Hetzer of the US […] Read More

Colbert Calls Out Ohio Gov. Kasich: You’re ‘Ruining People’s Lives’ by Locking Them Up For Marijuana

Stephen Colbert recently took on Ohio Governor and GOP presidential candidate John Kasich, over the Ohio marijuana legalization debate. The recent initiative to legalize marijuana in Ohio ultimately failed, after a group of corporate investors tried to amend the state constitution to prohibit entrepreneurs from getting in on the pot trade. The bulk of Ohio voters do, however, support marijuana legalizations, but not if it is tied to a corporate get-rich-quick scheme. “I know this is a dirty word when you’re running in the Republican primary, but you seem reasonable,” Colbert said on The Late Show. “We have a huge drug crisis in this country,” Kasich said. “Is it really pot, the drug crisis?” Colbert stopped him, adding that, “lots of people are going to jail for minor […] Read More

DEA Chief Rejects Science, Says ‘Medical Marijuana Is A Joke’

The United States Drug Enforcement Administration chief Chuck Rosenberg has some strong words about medical marijuana… the only problem is those words contradict all of the known science on cannabis to date. Rosenberg said Wednesday that he doesn’t think marijuana can actually be “medicinal”. He added that the entire premise of “medical marijuana” is a “joke,” according to a CBS News. “What really bothers me is the notion that marijuana is also medicinal — because it’s not,” Rosenberg said to reporters. “We can have an intellectually honest debate about whether we should legalize something that is bad and dangerous, but don’t call it medicine. That is a joke.” “There are pieces of marijuana — extracts or constituents or component parts — that have great promise medicinally,” […] Read More
