FDA Approves Use of Oxycontin for Children

By Alec Cope The same federal agency (the FDA) that once raided peaceful Amish communities for selling raw milk, approved on August 13th the use of the highly addictive and potent drug Oxycontin for 11 year olds. Oxycontin is the most abused drug in the United States, and the Federal Drug Administration has approved its use in 11 year to 16 year olds. Unfortunately, what some boldly call mainstream “news” failed to mention, was that Purdue Pharma of Stamford, Connecticut; concluded in only one study that the drug is safe for children. This company also happens to be the manufacturer that creates Oxycontin. This clearly demonstrates a conflict of interest and deflates the study as the company clearly has, “a horse in the race” and […] Read More

Toxic Decayed Meat Being Sold As “Fresh”

After reading this you may never trust Congress or the FDA again, let alone corporate chain grocery stores. This toxic practice makes seriously decayed meat look fresh for weeks and is banned in many countries including the European Union and Japan. Many consumers are unaware that over 70% of beef and chicken in the United States and Canada is treated with poisonous carbon monoxide gas and the FDA allows it, despite the known public health risks. A bill was introduced in Congress that would require the labeling of meat that has been treated with carbon monoxide but it was never enacted and the topic was swept under the rug entirely. [Bill: H.R. 3115 (110th) introduced on July 19, 2007; never enacted.] This practice makes meat […] Read More

Who Is Behind the Pain Killer Epidemic? Big Pharma, Of Course

The FDA approved Zohydro, with five to 10 times the abuse potential as its predecessor, OxyContin. There is good news and bad news when it comes to the nation’s decade-long opioid/heroin addiction epidemic. The good news is the government has cracked down on pill mills, strengthened warnings on pill labels and approved an injectable form of naloxone which reverses heroin overdoses and will reduce deaths in the hands of caregivers and police. The bad news is on the same day the FDA announced plans to tighten restrictions on hydrocodone combination products like Vicodin, it approved the long-acting drug Zohydro made from hydrocodone bitartrate which has five to 10 times the abuse potential of the infamous OxyContin. The FDA did so over the objections of many medical and public […] Read More

2014: New Movement Begins: Open Source Food, Nutrition & Supplement Industries

The next wave of the food, supplement and nutrition market is upon us with little fanfare. Perhaps because the age of information we are in has once again caught the public and market by surprise with its rapid pace. The idea of health supplements is nothing new, however the market has become lazy. Consumers settled for the status quo and companies were happy to take a back seat to meet that demand. However, all are in for a rude awakening. Garden of life and Subway just received their warning shot, and in doing so a revolution was quietly started. No longer will the informed public trust hype, social media marketing pushes, celebrity endorsement, or promises of meaningless words like ‘natural’. What is needed are truer, […] Read More

2014: Uh Oh: Politicians Formerly Against Medical Marijuana Now Singing Praises of Cannabidiol

Don’t sacrifice the plant for one of its healing compounds. State lawmakers who have steadfastly opposed the legalization of medical marijuana are suddenly singing the praises of cannabidiol. What gives? Lawmakers in a growing number of states, including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Utah, and Wisconsin, are saying no to medical cannabis but yes to cannabidiol, a naturally occurring compound in the plant. But is this new direction in the best interest of patients? Cannabidiol, also known as CBD, is one of an estimated 100 unique, biologically active compounds present in the marijuana plant. First discovered in 1940 (though its specific chemical structure was not identified until 1963), CBD is the most studied cannabinoid after delta-9-THC. Like THC, the compound acts on the endogenous cannabinoid system to […] Read More

2013: Beaver Butt Used As ‘Natural Flavoring’ In Your Food

By Joey Cardillo Natural News Yes, it’s true. Millions of people across the globe are eating “beaver butt” and don’t even know that they’re consuming such a substance. It’s called “castoreum,” and it’s emitted from the castor sacs within the animal’s anus. For a beaver, this slimy brown substance is used to mark its territory, but for us humans, it’s used as an additive that is often labeled as “natural flavoring” in the foods we eat – vanilla, strawberry and raspberry probably being the most common. Why is castoreum used? The most notable characteristic (after being processed) has to be the smell of castoreum. Instead of smelling horrible, like most people would expect from an anally produced secretion, it has a pleasant scent, which supposedly […] Read More

2000: Vaccine linked to autism?

New report points to dangers of MMR immunization By Julie Foster 2000 WorldNetDaily.com A new report by Dr. Harold Buttram, a practicing physician in Quakertown, Pa., suggests the recent increase in the number of autistic children could be caused by the combination measles, mumps and rubella, or MMR, vaccine routinely given to children at age 18 months — a phenomenon the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention claim is highly unlikely. In a past study of autistic children, researchers found that 84 percent of the children had antibodies against a certain type of brain tissue, indicating that the immune system was destroying brain cells. The researchers also found the brain tissue antibody to be very similar to the antibody that’s formed against the MMR vaccine. Additionally, […] Read More

2006: New Cancer Study Obligates FDA To Recall Aspartame

From Dr. Betty Martini, D.Hum 2-28-6 OPEN LETTER TO FDA – VIA CERTIFIED MAIL DELANEY AMENDMENT: If a product causes cancer in animals it cannot be put in food! The late FDA Toxicologist, Dr. Adrian Gross, testified to the Senate: “In view of all these indications that the cancer-causing potential of aspartame is a matter that had been established way beyond any reasonable doubt, one can ask: What is the reason for the apparent refusal by the FDA to invoke for this food additive the so-called Delaney Amendment to the Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act? Is it not clear beyond any shadow of a doubt that aspartame has caused brain tumors or brain cancer in animals? “Given that this is so (and I cannot see […] Read More

2013: Trans Fats busted

In my research on the new trans fats labeling laws, I found, in my opinion, a very serious infraction being perpetrated on American consumers by the food companies….. If you have been out label shopping lately, you have probably come across labels reading “0 Grams Trans Fat“, in foods such as margarine, bean dips, chips, and many other foods that typically contain the notoriously dangerous trans fats, known as “partially hydrogenated oil, hydrogenated oil, and vegetable shortening”. If you look at the “Ingredients:” portion of the label, you will still see these hydrogenated oils listed in the content of the foods, sometimes listed as a third ingredient, as in the Frito Lay Bean Dip, indicating a higher weight than ingredients listed toward the end. I called Frito […] Read More

Deadly Immunity

By Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Salon.com Thursday 16 June 2005 A Salon/Rolling Stone joint investigation. When a study revealed that mercury in childhood vaccines may have caused autism in thousands of kids, the government rushed to conceal the data – and to prevent parents from suing drug companies for their role in the epidemic. In June 2000, a group of top government scientists and health officials gathered for a meeting at the isolated Simpsonwood conference center in Norcross, Ga. Convened by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the meeting was held at this Methodist retreat center, nestled in wooded farmland next to the Chattahoochee River, to ensure complete secrecy. The agency had issued no public announcement of the session – only private invitations to […] Read More
