The stigma surrounding Ebola poses a serious obstacle to efforts to calibrate the outbreak in Liberia, Sierra Leone, Guinea and Nigeria. This morning I received an early call from a friend that informed me that a special meeting was held at the Pentagon about the outbreak of Ebola. In the briefing it was announced that two American patients infected with Ebola would be treated in Atlanta Georgia. Officials say the victims; Dr. Kent Brantly and Nancy Writebol are at Emory University Hospital in a special containment facility provided by the CDC. Sources told CNN that Brantly and Writebol are described as being in grave condition but are stable after their health worsened overnight.
