Ultimate Detox Mask
Recipe Type: Masks
Cuisine: Natural Cures
Ingredients
  • – 1 tbsp. bentonite clay
  • – 1 tbsp. activated charcoal
  • – 1 tsp. camu camu
  • – 1 drop tea tree essential oil
  • – apple cider vinegar (enough to make a paste consistency to your liking)
Instructions
  1. Bentonite Clay – As mentioned above, bentonite clay physically pulls everything from grime to bacteria out of your skin.
  2. Activated Charcoal – Activated charcoal draws bacteria, poisons, chemicals, dirt and other micro-particles to the surface of skin. It has been proven to adsorb thousands of times its own mass in harmful substances, making it a perfect remedy for wounds and cracked, exposed skin. This is your best bet to purify and give your skin the deep cleaning it desperately needs!
  3. Camu Camu – Camu camu is one of the highest botanical sources of Vitamin C, and also contains other antioxidants like beta-carotene and anthocyanins that are excellent for the skin. Vitamin C supports skin health by boosting collagen production, and is perhaps the most purifying vitamin known to man. Camu camu powder (or any high vitamin C food) taken internally can truly make your skin glow!
  4. Tea Tree Essential Oil – The health benefits of tea tree oil can be attributed to its properties as an antibacterial, antimicrobial, antiseptic, antiviral, stimulant, and so much more. The ‘cicatrisant’ property (meaning it has the ability to form scar tissue) makes it heal wounds quickly and protects them from infections. It has a stimulating effect on hormone secretions, blood circulation, and most importantly on the immune system, which helps your skin complete its detox job.
  5. Apple Cider Vinegar – With a pH similar to skin, ACV helps restore and balance your skin’s natural environment. The acidity of the vinegar can dry out blemishes while also promoting new, healthy skin to take its place. You can also use ACV as a toner after your mask (or any day of the week), and taking it internally can combat a myriad of ailments, including those that effect the skin, such as acne.
