1998: LOST TIME

I thought I would finally share a few of my experiences. To the best of my knowledge, I’ve never been abducted. At least I can’t recall having been. In the early 1970’s I had two blocks of missing time. Back then, I was young and very healthy with no physical problems that would contribute to these blackouts. The first time this happened, I was driving home at about 2:00 am on a warm Saturday morning from St. Cloud, MN to Osseo, a northern suburb of Minneapolis. I was traveling along Highway 10, a rather secluded stretch of road at the time. When I turned the corner to my house, I suddenly became aware of my surroundings. Then I realized that I couldn’t remember driving […] Read More

UFOs SUB ROSA* DOWN UNDER THE AUSTRALIAN MILITARY & GOVERNMENT ROLE IN THE UFO CONTROVERSY By Bill Chalker copyright ©1996 Part Two THE “SEA FURY” ENCOUNTER One of the most controversial radar visual reports of the fifties occurred on August 31st, 1954. The story leaked out in December, 1954, and made front page headlines. The official navy file on the event remained classified until the Directorate of Naval Intelligence released a copy upon my request in 1982. During his 1973 visit to Australia, Dr. Hynek was able to interview the pilot involved in this famous incident, which became known as the “Sea Fury” encounter. Dr. Hynek made his notes on this interview available to me during my 1984 visit to the Chicago headquarters of his organization, the Center […] Read More

1997: The Roswell Report

The Center For UFO Studies Response To The Air Force’s 1997 Report The Roswell Report: Case Closed by Mark Rodeghier OVERVIEW In June of this year, the Air Force released their second massive report on the now well–known Roswell incident that occurred in and near Roswell, New Mexico in early July, 1947. The first Air Force report in September 1994 concluded that the debris found by rancher Mac Brazel was from an Army Air Forces balloon–borne research project code named MOGUL. Despite the seeming finality of that first report, the Air Force clearly felt the need to release a new report that discusses the claims of alien bodies that were found at a second location in New Mexico in 1947. The new report concludes that: […] Read More

2005: What’s This? A Shaver Revival?

by Doug Skinner Richard Sharpe Shaver died 30 years ago. He was never famous in the usual sense of the word, but the “Shaver Mystery” and the “rock books” were once hot topics in certain circles. That was a long time ago, however, and Shaver ought to be forgotten by now. Surprisingly, he has remained stubbornly alive, and in an unexpected place—the art world. Maybe it’s time to reassess him; maybe we can even clear up a few puzzles and misconceptions. Shaver’s Early Life Richard Shaver (he added the “Sharpe” himself later) was born in 1907; he was one of five children. At least two other members of his family were writers: his mother, Grace, was a published poet, and his brother Taylor contributed […] Read More

1940s: The Hefferlin Manuscript

Typewritten and handwritten copies of these manuscripts have been in circulation since the Hefferlins, began releasing them from Livingston, Montana in the late 1940s. At the time the Hefferlins first heard of Rainbow City in the Antarctic, sometime in 1940 according to them, the information was so fantastic as to be beyond belief. It is still unbelievable to most people that there in the frozen wastes lies a great city, comfortably warm, full of scientific marvels from some great, hitherto unknown civilization of the past. Nevertheless, they were convinced the information was true and cautiously released it a little at a time to the few they found understanding and receptive. Hefferlin claims he designed a flyable, circle-winged plane before Frying Saucers became news in […] Read More
