Key excerpts from a transcript of the UFO video special Alien Encounters From New Tomorrowland. All quotes were spoken by host/narrator Robert Urich unless otherwise noted. Remember, Disney CEO Michael Eisner and program narrator Robert Urich delivered these quotes with straight, matter-of-fact, totally serious cadence and inflection, as you can see in the video we’ve posted at the link above. Robert Urich [Intro sequence over various UFO photos and film]: This is not swamp gas. It is not a flock of birds. This is an actual spacecraft from another world, piloted by alien intelligence – one sighting from tens of thousands made over the last fifty years on virtually every continent on the globe. Intelligent life from distant galaxies is now attempting to make […] Read More

Michael Jordan, Journal of Alternative Realities, Volume 10, Issue 1, 2002 Any scientific study of the UFO enigma seems inevitable to result in frustrating ambiguity and contradiction. Really worthwhile UFO reports are frequently characterized by high strangeness, evasiveness, resistance to scholarly investigation and a seemingly unavoidable, bewildering array of conclusions. Writer K. Phillips, in an essay on The Psycho-Sociology of Ufology, notes that in addition to this elusiveness, “it can be shown that the UFO phenomenon has a religious, historic and folkloric dimension, the implications of which are only just beginning to be appreciated by those who are willing to sift the evidence…. moreover, by inspection of the tens of thousands of reports from all over the world, it would seem that ¾ paradoxically […] Read More
If UFOs are real, shouldn’t they produce some real physical effects? James McDonald, Statement on UFOs to U.S. House Committee on Science and Aeronautics, 1968 Symposium on UFOs Again, the answer is that they do. There are rather well-authenticated cases spanning a wide variety of “physical effects.” Car-stopping cases are one important class. UFOs have repeatedly been associated with ignition failures and light-failures of cars and trucks which came near UFOs or near which the UFOs moved. I would estimate that one could assemble a list of four or five dozen such instances from various parts of the world. Interference with radios and TV receptions have been reported many times in connection with UFO sightings. There are instances where UFOs have been reported as […] Read More
by Patricia Mason The abduction experience is a fascinating aspect of the UFO phenomena and, like UFOs, is elusive and difficult to research. One must rely on the experiencer’s memory of the event. Are these events real? Even experiencers themselves question this. There is a physical and measurable force that can affect human perception – EMF. Discovering the role of EMF in this mystery is essential to its solution. Magnetite is a mineral with magnetic properties. Composed of black crystals, it is the most common form of iron ore mined in the United States. Magnetite is also found in the cells of living organisms such as honey bees, whales, and birds. It is thought to act as a navigational aid, a sort of a biological compass. In the early 1990s, magnetite was found in […] Read More
The so-called “Pentacle Memorandum” convinced UFO researcher Jacques Vallee that the US government had been toying with the official UFO investigations and that these were a front for something else… if not something more sinister. Philip Coppens Jacques Vallee & Allen Hynek In Forbidden Science (1992), Jacques Vallee, who was the inspiration for one of the main characters in Spielberg’s Close Encounters of the Third Kind, reports how in 1967 he found Allen Hynek’s UFO files to be in serious disarray. On Sunday, June 18, 1967, Vallee tried to restore some order in the files and “found a letter which is especially remarkable because of the new light it throws on the key period of the Robertson Panel and of Report #14”. This was the […] Read More
Gerald K. Haines An extraordinary 95 percent of all Americans have at least heard or read something about Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs), and 57 percent believe they are real. (1) Former US Presidents Carter and Reagan claim to have seen a UFO. UFOlogists–a neologism for UFO buffs–and private UFO organizations are found throughout the United States. Many are convinced that the US Government, and particularly CIA, are engaged in a massive conspiracy and coverup of the issue. The idea that CIA has secretly concealed its research into UFOs has been a major theme of UFO buffs since the modern UFO phenomena emerged in the late 1940s. (2) In late 1993, after being pressured by UFOlogists for the release of additional CIA information on UFOs, […] Read More
Gubernia TV UFO news coverage A news report broadcast by Gubernia TV in Russia about a multiple-witness sighting of a large UFO—posted on YouTube on May 12—has elicited considerable attention in several ufological news forums, particularly in Italy, but little else in the Western mainstream media. The case occurred in the village of Lesopilniy in the Khabarovsk region in Russia’s Far East and it involved dozens of witnesses, including soldiers at a military base nearby who fired artillery shells at the UFO without harming it. The case seems highly interesting, although at this point we are still unable to verify much of the information beyond what was broadcast by Gubernia TV. According to the website OstaMyy.Com, which covers TV and Radio Channels in Russia, […] Read More
You’ve probably never met Larry Bryant but chances are you know somebody just like him, a guy with so much time on his hands, he spends a lot of it making neighbors’ lives miserable. But instead of snapping photos of the derelict boat in your driveway or tape-measuring for easement code violations, Bryant courts UFOs whistleblowers and files Freedom of Information Act requests with the government. And if, as researcher/author Robert Hastings contends[1], F.E. Warren AFB is ordering its folks to shut up about alleged UFO event unfolding near its nuclear missiles on 10/23/2010, chances are Larry Bryant had something to do with it. After Hastings began fishing around for sources late last year, Bryant took out an online ad aimed at convincing Warren personnel to […] Read More
Dan Smith How well has the government responded to the popular belief that it is concealing evidence of UFOs? Here is what seems to be the standard conservative view: Since there is no basis for the popular belief, to begin with, any attempted response on the part of the government is only likely to stir that pot and thus be counter-productive. The opposing view is that by inadequately responding, the government is contributing to the perception of a cover-up. In most situations, the conservative position naturally tends to dominate and that has been the case in this context. However, I happen to support the ‘liberal’ view that there is at least some justification for the perception of a cover-up and that something ought to […] Read More
We all know the scenario, a military man is somehow involved in an incident with a UFO and the story is covered up with bogus stories and threats. However, now and then one of these old encounters eventually makes it’s way to the public. This is one of those stories that North Dakota Guard pilot, George Gorman had in the skies over Fargo one crisp autumn night that was never forgotten. It was a clear evening on Oct. 1, 1948, like Gorman, along with fellow Guard members flew cross country to Hector. While the rest of the group landed, Gorman decided to take the opportunity to get in a little extra time with his P51 Mustang. It wasn’t long before he was in the […] Read More
WASHINGTON (Oct. 27) NASA has agreed to search its archives once again for documents on a 1965 UFO incident in Pennsylvania, a step the space agency fought in federal court. The government has refused to open its files about what, if anything, moved across the sky and crashed in the woods near Kecksburg, Pa., 40 miles southeast of Pittsburgh. Traffic was tied up in the area as curiosity seekers drove to the area, only to be kept away from the crash site by soldiers. The Air Force’s explanation for the unidentified flying object: a meteor or meteors. “They could not find anything,” one Air Force memo stated after a late-night search on Dec. 9, 1965. Several NASA employees also were reported to have been […] Read More
–An Introductory Discussion of Scientific / Engineering aspects of ET Crash / Retrievals. It is this observer’s long concern and, that there is a sad utter lack, in our research community of a projective and anticipatory analysis, on what is, with high probability a truly stunning treasure trove that is held in UFO crash/retrieval engineering labs. Translated few have sat down and conducted a “break out”, system by system, a formal decomposition of what was a hidden harvest now diffused into the average automobile, commercial jet, PC, Server farm, or secret space ship. This has been accomplished with stealth and subterfuge, and very clever cover stories. It is not possible in a few words to support and justify this claim. Corso knew some small […] Read More
Appendix 1: Official UFO Investigations in France: the GEPAN/SEPRA Project For more than 20 years, the French space agency has conducted a non-military but official investigation into UFO reports. In its first phase, the project was named GEPAN and its focus was primarily on UFO reports. Subsequently, the project was renamed SEPRA and was assigned a more general responsibility for studying all atmospheric reentry phenomena. In the body of the report, we have for convenience referred to the project as “GEPAN/SEPRA.” This appendix gives a brief summary of the history, mission, operations and achievements of this project. The French space agency is known as CNES (Centre National d’Études Spatiales). It was founded in 1962 to conduct French space activities on a national basis and […] Read More
Witnesses to UFOs report many different shapes and sizes. From discs to cigars to triangles and almost anything you could imagine. Despite the varied shapes and sizes, researchers have tried to organize these sightings into neat little boxes. In reality, this can’t be done. However, there have been two systems developed which are as close as we can get to categorizing sighting reports. One is the Jacques Vallee system, which is quite extensive. The other is the Dr. J. Allen Hynek system, which is by far the most widely used, and from which the term, “close encounters” was coined. According to Dr. Hynek: This is the traditional method of describing an event as a distant or close encounter of the first, second, or third […] Read More
