Editor: Joseph Trainor GREEN FIREBALL SIGHTED IN SOUTH CAROLINA Last night, Saturday, April 20, 1996, at around 10 p.m., a UFO described as a “green fireball” rocketed over the town of North Augusta, S.C. The object was moving at a high speed and travelling at a very high altitude. The eyewitness was a South Carolina teenaged boy. He added that, immediately after the flyover, about seven jet interceptors travelled over the town, heading in the same direction as the UFO. Note: North Augusta, a community of 34,000, is situated three miles north of the Savannah River, which forms the South Carolina state line. Longtime UFO researcher Jenny Randles interviewed a retired air marshal from the Royal Air Force. The sky was clear, and the temperature a comfortable 50 degrees Fahrenheit, as the Huntsville woman and her six-year-old daughter arrived at their observation sight. Looking into the sky directly overhead, they spied “a fuzzy white light…like the Comet Hyakutake” descending in an arc toward the horizon and moving very rapidly. Encounter by a Pennsylvanian witness at Marietta was reported to MUFON and filed in its witness reporting database under Case 61106. According to the report, the UFO is an orange sphere-shaped, flying just 40 feet above the reporting witness’ home. The UFO reportedly lit up the ground as it slowly moved across the neighborhood.
